16 Jun 2011 DON’T BUY A EOS DIGITAL REBEL T1I JUST YET
If capturing high def movies is a must have feature in your future digital SLR camera acquisition, then the Canon T1i SLR is understandably a digital SLR camera you should consider. While you won't be shooting a full length docudrama with the EOS Digital Rebel T1i, you can get eighteen minutes of high def 720p at thirty fps. I like that the Nikon D90 12.3MP makes movies at 720p, but only for a maximum of five min, and only for a measly twenty four frames per second. If your intent on shooting a lot of sport sequences with the Canon SLR Rebel T1i, you should probably do a little more research. The high def movies I've looked at exhibit a bit of variability. With the Canon Rebel T1i, you can alternate between 1080p at 20ps for high def movies, or 720p resolution at thirty fps. It's a good approach to switch to the lower resolution if your running out of room on your storage card, or you want to create long videos. If you take a lot of minimal lighting scenes, then the 12,800 ISO ratings packaged with the Canon Rebel T1i may be important. 23 May 2011 STARTING A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS
Anyone who wants to make money from photography would do well to consider a wedding photography business. Unlike many businesses that you can start, a wedding photography business requires a minimum of preparation. It does require, of course, photography skills and the right equipment.Preparing for your BusinessAlthough a low budget camera costing around $50 is adequate for some photography tasks, it will not fit the bill for wedding photography. Your best choice would be a digital SLR camera. SLR stands for single-reflux- lens. A digital SLR camera, according to Wikipedia, is a digital camera that uses a mechanical mirror system and pentaprism to direct light from the lens to an optical viewfinder on the camera's back. Many professionals prefer SLR cameras for good reason: these cameras have the ability to work with an array of special lenses, plus they provide an reliable preview of framing close to the time you snap the shutter. While an SLR camera is the ideal, you might get by initially with a good quality camera costing about $200 (in the US). In all likelihood, you will recover this expenditure after you have worked at a couple of weddings. Since the camera is a necessary investment in ... [more..]
06 May 2010 LOOKING FOR THE BEST DIGITAL SLR?
While single lens reflex (digital SLR or DSLR) seems like a strange term, it is also an apt description of what these cameras actually do. The scene illuminated through the single lens is exactly the same one shown to the photographer with the viewfinder. The best digital SLR cameras do this exceedingly well. While most inexpensive point and shoot digital cameras have a exclusive stable built in lens, single lens reflex cameras allow for more imaginative expression thru the modifying of lenses. This feature is just one reason why single lens reflex cameras are the camera of choice by experienced and beginning lensman. Those enthusiasts that won't use a DSLR camera end up staring at a distorted representation of their Kodak moment. The focal length of your lens is a point of concern, when what the photographer sees, and what the camera sees are two slightly diverse things. If your fortunate enough to have a digital single lens reflex camera, then another hurdle is cleared as one picture is shown to both the photographer and the camera itself. Those amateur SLR users, will be encouraged to learn that "Live View" is a standard amongst many DSLR cameras that grant the use of ... [more..]
